With an interesting premise, likable characters, and some very creepy imagery, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is the perfect end of summer scary movie.

Thanks to its two strong leads, plenty of tense sequences, solid directing, and a good pace, Crawl is a fun if familiar creature feature.

While it has a familiar story and doesn’t handle its themes as well as Hereditary, Midsommar is still an impressive sophomore effort from Ari Aster.

Though it doesn’t fully commit to its concept, Brightburn still works thanks to its performances, tense sequences, and plentiful amounts of gore.
