With solid performances, an intriguing story, and a memorable score, Beyond the Darkness is probably Joe D’Amato’s best film and an Italian horror classic.

Though crudely made and not as graphic as it used to be, Antropophagus still earns its place as an Italian splatter classic.

While slow at times and slightly dated, Viy is still an interesting watch thanks to its effective atmosphere and tension-filled build-up to the end.
